Term Dates

MAKSON's academic calendar is divided into four terms. Students of Daycare and Early Years Programmes can be enrolled any day during term and start from second day of each week. Primary years students can be enrolled at the beginning of each term for Grade 1-3, and the start of each semester for Grade 4-6 after passing the entrance assessment. Grade 4-6 will need to submit the academic records from previous school.

Enrolment Procedures

MAKSON follows below procedures before admitting your child into a class that is most appropriate for him or her. Students aged four and below will meet our principal or academic administrator to have verbal assessment. Students aged from five will be required to do both written and verbal assessment.

Step 1: Age of Admittance

Daycare Programme: (1-3 years old)
Early Years Programme: (3-6 years old)
Grade 1: six years old
Grade 2: seven years old
Grade 3: eight years old
Grade 4: nine years old
Grade 5: ten years old
Grade 6: eleven years old

Step 2: Application

The completed Application Form is to be submitted together with the following:

A copy of passport-size coloured photographs which are not more than 6 months old.
A copy of each parents’ passport-size coloured photograph which are not more than 6 months old
A copy of Birth Certificate, Identity Card including both parents or Passport and Visa for foreign parents/students
Official copy of School Report for the last 2 years
A copy of student’s health record

Step 3: Assessment

Upon receipt of the application form, our Admission team will be in touch with you to schedule an appointment to assess your child to determine the acceptance and placement of the child.

Age appropriate assessment will be carried out to assess your child’s capability in coping and settling happily in our school. The outcome of the assessment is one of many factors that the School will take into consideration when it comes to placement of your child. The School will have absolute discretion in terms of placement for each and every child. We will ensure the placement for all children is the best and most suitable year groups for each and everyone of our children which will in turn help them to strive in their learning and growth.

Step 4: Admission and Registration

Upon satisfactory of assessment, a copy of ‘Letter of Offer’ will be issued. The acceptance of the offer must be made prior to the child’s commencement of school. The payment of Registration and Deposit constitutes acceptance of a place and therein confirms the place for the child.
